Dancing in the rain

When it rains, it pours.

Storms on life comes in groups, completely making girls emotional. Thid has been my past few days, if life is grabbing hold of me. Things are terrible. Some struggles are too great it seems it would be unfair to write them down.

Yet I unfortuantly must do so.

For one, my beautiful grandmother passed away this week suddenly of a stroke. I was at a friends house when I heard the terrible news. I'm not sure if she was a christian or not. She said she was bbut never would really talk about God or faith or act like a christian. I can only pray her soul is with Jesus and she is bowing before home and singing his name right now.

Second, My dear sister had just found out she was pregnet when she had a misscarriage. How awful, I have to say! But the lord gives and takes away.

On top of these losses, My Dad got salary drop at work. We are very thankful though that he didn't lose his job comepletely.

YET THERE IS HOPE IN CHIRST IN THESE TIMES OF NEED!

These words have come to me again and again the past few days:

We pray for blessings, we pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering

All the while You hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?

What if trials of this life
Are Your mercies in disguise?

We pray for wisdom, Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough

And all the while You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears?

And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?

And what if trials of this life
Are Your mercies in disguise?

When friends betray us, when darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears?
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?

What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst
This world can't satisfy?

And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise?

-laura story

times like these also make me want to praise GOD!!

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocing voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that helf Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I knoww that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast inJesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
(REPEAT)

I LOVE this quote because it makes me want to face my struggles:

smiles, right?

Interview with Kendall

This is an awesome interview with an awesome blogger. Check her out here.

Kendall is a fifteen-year-old reader, writer, and photographer from Texas. She loves rainy days, cats, painting her nails, traveling, and smiling. She wishes she was British and ambidextrous. She blogs about pretty much everything under the sun at starry nights + sunny days.

1.  Why do you blog???
I started a blog back in 2008 because I'd seen some that I really liked and I guess I wanted to do something similar -- talk about things I like and just have a place to share my thoughts. Then in December of 2010, I decided to start fresh so I made a new blog where I could be more my real self. And that's where I am now.

2.If you died what would people remember you as?
Right now, I guess I'd just be known to the general public as that girl who went to so-and-so high school, who played soccer and guitar and liked to read and write. Maybe someday, I'll be something more.

3.What is your all time favorite blog?
I don't have a single favorite blog; I follow about 35 blogs and I love them all! But the main things I like about them are good photography, enthralling writing & unique personalities. (For a list of my favorites, just click on the 'blogs I love' page on my blog :)

4. If you had a million dollars what would you do first?
If I had a million dollars, the first thing I would do is travel and buy things I've been wanting (music, books, etc.) . Then I would put away most of it for the future and give the remaining to charity.

5.what book character can you idenify with the most? why?
This is hard! I identify with different aspects of many characters, but I don't know which complete character I identify most with.

6.what is your alltime favorite movie?
It's pretty much psychologically impossible for me to chose my top favorite of anything, but I can narrow it down to a few: That Darn Cat, Gone With The Wind, The Sound of Music, The Parent Trap (both), and all Harry Potter.

7. describe your dream wedding wedding dress:
I honestly I haven't given this much thought. Something comfortable and pretty, for sure, but other than that I don't really know!

8.How would people describe your personality? (If they could only use ONE word.) Are they right?
It depends on who you ask. Some people would say 'shy' or 'introverted' and those are both true. One of my friends said 'peaceful', which I really can't explain. I think my personality is more complex and hard to sum up in one word.

9.What celebrity/celebrities would create a “Star-Struck” feeling if you saw them in real life?
Oh my goodness, probably anybody remotely famous. Any of my favorite authors or musical artists, and anyone from Harry Potter, haha.

10.Do you have a strong desire to do something you’ve never done? What is it?
There are so many things I haven't done that I'd like to do someday: learn Spanish fluently. Ride a roller coaster. Cook a full meal by myself. Go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.

11. If money wasn’t a factor, what stores would you shop in?
Hmm...Probably book stores...and iTunes. I already do that. But definitely Anthropologie.

12.What are your favorite types of reading material?
I love historical fiction & realistic fiction books, mostly.

13.Who would you like to have a long talk with?
I would say any of my favorite authors, but I'd probably be too nervous to talk, so I'll just stick with any of my friends. Maybe my cousin.

14. what movie for you is a tear-jerker every time?
Most of the movies I like are comedies, but The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is extremely sad. It's about the Holocaust, so I knew it wasn't going to be happy, but I was in tears by the end.

15.do you agree with my views on purity?
I'm not sure exactly what your beliefs on this are, so I don't quite know how to respond. I will say that I think it's each person's own decision what they do, and that I try to respect that choice.

16. A piece of advice you would want to share with younger girls?
Pretty much everything worth saying has already been said, but I'd just reiterate this: Be yourself and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Take risks sometimes. Enjoy your life!

Looking Back

My thirteen year old sister Rachel came up to me today and asked what me fondest childhood memory was.
Oh Dear.
"I don't know", I replied, "sometimes I still feel like a kid so my best memory would be every moment of my life so far."
She just starred and we began to laugh.

The more I think about it I relize how wonderful of a childhood I had had.

I can remember the day my brother Joshua was born and jumping up in down in joy upon finding out it was a boy. I didn't want another sister like my older sister Emily and I liked my other older brother a lot.

Since then Rachel has come and Will too. My siblings are blessings. All my best memories involve them.

I can remember when we moved to Hilton Head. I was five. I remember asking Mom if it was safe we were living here, because in the bible theres that parable about the guy who built his house on sand and it got washed away.
I remember Mom laughing about that and telling me we wouldn't be living on the beach but just near to it.

I remember the day I broke my ankle in the middle of a ballet recital. I was seven and have never danced since.

I remember the day my life was saved. We were hiking and I almost fell of a mountain. A boy from our youth group grabbed me and pulled me up. I was 13 and thought it was so romantic.
I recall telling my friends about it and them agreeing the fact he saved my life was awfully romantic.
I hate to amit this but after that I had a crush on him for two years.

I remember reading this book. I loved this book. I still reread it occasionally. It fascinated me.

I remember the morning me and mom watched the sunrise on the beach. It is when I first fell in love with
sunrises and sunsets. I was seven.
"Mommy," I had asked,"If God could make stuff this pretty he must be a wonderful God," I had said.
Mom smiled. "he is, Maya, a wonderful God."

I remember my first piano lesson. When i fell in love with music. I practiced all the time. My teacher even asked my Mom if i had even taken music before.
"she is too in love with m music" she had said.
My Mom shook her head. "No, that is not possible. Music is simply something we all fall in love with and Maya loves it more than others."

I remeber going to see the first Harry Potter movie in theaters.
I thought It was sorta scary because I was seven.
I refused to tell my family I was scared though.

I remember when i was twelve and became a christian. the finest memory of them all.
I'll tell racheel that.

Maya M.

P.S. like the new design? also did you enjoy Emily and Sophie's guest posts?
